Overview

What massage therapy does, and who it is for

Massage therapy is hands-on treatment of the muscles, tendons, and connective tissue. It eases pain, improves how you move, and calms a stressed nervous system.

At True Integration, every massage is performed by a Registered Massage Therapist. That matters. A registered therapist is trained to assess your body first, then choose techniques that fit the problem in front of them, whether that is a stiff neck from desk work, a recovering injury, or tension you carry without noticing.

Most people come in for one of three reasons: they hurt, they cannot move the way they want to, or they need to switch off and rest. Massage helps with all three. We treat the area that bothers you and the muscles around it that are quietly compensating, so the relief holds longer than the appointment.

New to massage, or not sure what to book?

Start with a 60-minute session. Your therapist will talk through your goals, check how you move, and adjust the plan as they go. You never have to know the right technique in advance.

Techniques

Six ways we treat, one plan for you

You do not need to choose a technique before you arrive. Your therapist matches the approach to your body, and most sessions blend a few. Here is what each one is good for.

01Deep tissue massage on the back

Deep Tissue

Firm, slow pressure that reaches the deeper muscle layers. Best for stubborn knots and long-standing tightness.

02Trigger point and fascial release

Trigger Point & Fascial Release

Focused work on the knots and tight fascia that refer pain elsewhere in the body.

03Relaxation massage

Relaxation

Gentle, flowing strokes that settle the nervous system and ease day-to-day stress.

04Pregnancy and postpartum massage

Pregnancy & Postpartum

Carefully positioned, supportive treatment for expecting and new parents.

05Infant massage

Infant Massage

Gentle techniques, plus guidance so you can soothe and support your baby at home.

06Sports and pre-event massage

Sports & Pre-Event

Light, brisk work to warm up muscles and circulation before training or competition.

Your visit

What actually happens in the room

A first visit is 60 minutes. The first 10 to 15 are a conversation about what is going on and what you want from the session. The rest is treatment. You are in charge the whole time.

Clothing is your call

Stay dressed or undress to your comfort. Only the area being worked on is uncovered, and the rest of you stays draped with a sheet.

Gel or no gel

Prefer to stay fully clothed? We can work over clothing with no oil or gel. The results are still effective.

Conditions we treat

Common reasons people book a massage

If something here sounds familiar, massage therapy is a good place to start. If you are not sure, call us and we will point you in the right direction.

Neck & shoulder tension

The stiffness that builds from screens, driving, and stress. We release it and show you how to keep it from coming back.

Low back pain

One of the most common complaints we see. Massage eases the muscle guarding that often keeps back pain going.

Tension headaches

Many headaches start in tight neck and jaw muscles. Treating them can cut how often a headache shows up.

Sciatica & hip tightness

When tight glutes and hips irritate the sciatic nerve, targeted release can take the pressure off.

Sports & overuse injuries

Support for strains, recovery, and training loads, so you can get back to your sport sooner and stay there.

Stress & poor sleep

When your body cannot wind down, massage helps shift it out of fight-or-flight so rest comes more easily.

Questions, answered

Massage therapy FAQs

Your first visit is 60 minutes. We spend the first 10 to 15 minutes talking about what brought you in, your health history, and what you want from the session. Then your therapist gets to work, checking in on pressure and comfort as they go.

No. You undress only to the level you are comfortable with, and you are always covered with a sheet except for the area being treated. If you would rather stay fully clothed, we can work over clothing without oil or gel.

Deep tissue work can feel intense, but it should never be more than you want to handle. Tell your therapist if anything is too much and they will ease off. Good massage works with your body, not against it.

It depends on what you are dealing with. For an acute problem, weekly visits for a few weeks are common. Once things settle, many people come in every few weeks to stay ahead of tension. Your therapist will suggest a rhythm that fits your goals and budget.

Most extended health plans cover treatment from a Registered Massage Therapist. Coverage and limits vary, so check your plan. If your massage benefits are capped, ask us about treating soft tissue under chiropractic care instead.

Yes. Pregnancy massage uses careful positioning and gentle techniques to support you through each trimester and after birth. Let us know you are expecting when you book so we can prepare the room.
